I came across the site at random,and later I never regretted that I used the services of this company.We ordered a transfer from the Venice airport to the hotel, then from the hotel to the cruise terminal and back.I was answered very quickly, and all the details were discussed.I liked the clarity and very attentive attitude to the client.The prices are quite reasonable.The drivers are real professionals, the cars are in excellent condition. Separately, I want to note that you get a service in the best sense of the word "service".You are not just taken to the place,we are not...

This is the fifth year we have traveled with Leonid and Sergey. We had a transfer from Venice airport to Corvara (Alta Badia). Even in spite of the snowfall and traffic jams on the mountain roads, we got there very quickly. The Mercedes minibus was offered at the price of economy. Thank you.

How to get from Marco Polo to Venice and back

Marco Polo airport is used for both domestic and international flights. That's why the major part of tourists visiting Venice is arriving right here: from other Italian cities, foreign countries and even other continents.

The terminal has three floors. The first floor is for arrivals. The driver for your transfer will be waiting for you here with a pickup sign. The second floor is for check-ins and departures. Here you can also buy a ticket to Moscow if you have to leave urgently. Aeroflot booking office is located next to check-in counters. The third floor is for offices of multiple air companies.

There are several ways to get from Marco Polo airport to Venice:

  • shuttle bus;
  • water taxi, water bus;
  • taxi taken at the airport parking or booked via app;
  • transfer.

Let's learn more about each way to find out the most suitable for you.

Shuttle bus from Marco Polo airport to Venice

The bus is traditionally the cheapest way to the city. You can buy a ticket on the first floor of the airport in the arrival zone or at the bus stop. Shuttle buses are working daily from 4 am until 1 am. When purchasing a ticket, don't forget to pay for your luggage too.

Here's the list of official bus companies going from Marco Polo airport to Venice:

ACTV (bus number 5, departure every 20 minutes, the price is 8€);

Infobus (departure every 30 minutes, the price is 9€);

FlixBus (bus terminates at Mestre railway station, departure every 20 minutes, the price is 8€);

AVTO (express bus number 35, departure every 15-20 minutes, the price is 8€; bus number 25 will take you to Mestre railway station).

To skip the waiting time in lines it's better to purchase a bus ticket online at the official websites. You'll get an email with the file containing a ticket, which you have to print. You can do it at home, so you'll definitely have your ticket upon arrival. The trip from airport to Venice by bus usually lasts 20-30 minutes.

The main advantage of taking a bus is obviously the price. But with a transfer you wouldn't be wasting your time and waiting for the bus departure. The driver will be waiting for you just at the time of your arrival. Also transfer is available 24/7. In case of landing in Venice at night you will be immediately going to your hotel for rest. No need to wait for the first bus and stay at the airport until 4 am.

Vaporetto and water taxi from Marco Polo airport to Venice

The boat is more expensive, but also a more thrilling way to reach Venice. Water buses operating by Alilaguna company runs every 30 minutes starting 6:15 am and until 0:40 am. Tickets are available in the arrival zone of the airport, at the pier or online. One way ticket costs 15€. Each passenger can bring hand luggage and one suitcase for free. If you have more than one piece of luggage, you have to buy an extra ticket for your things.

It takes approximately 1,5 hours to reach Venice by water bus. The ride is that long because there are several stops on different islands along the way. You can take a water taxi to arrive to Venice faster, it takes about 30 minutes. But the price for the water taxi is much higher. Get ready to pay 130€ or even more for speed and comfort.

Compared to slow water bus, the transfer is much faster! That means you will arrive to Venice earlier. If you're traveling in a company of 3 persons or more, the price would be the same as for water taxi. But you'll reach Venice in 20 minutes and will be able to start sightseeing right away!

Taxi from Marco Polo airport to Venice

Taxi costs about 40€ and it makes no huge difference with the Transfer Italy services (45€). Keep in mind, when ordering a taxi, that night tariffs are 30% higher, from 10 pm to 7 am you'll have to pay way more. The same is for weekends and holidays. Due to these features a taxi ride might be more expensive than a transfer. The prices of transfers are always the same, regardless of time and day.

Planning to order a taxi in Italy? Use App Taxi or official airport taxi service Cooperativa Artigiana Radiotaxi.

App Taxi is a mobile application, working as Uber analog (because Uber is forbidden in Italy). Trying to book a ride via this app you might face some obstacles.

If you're taking a local taxi, it's better to have a business card with a hotel name. Most drivers are speaking only Italian. Another important tip is to pay for the ride with banknotes of low denominations, because you'll hardly get a fair change.

Get ready for some issues during the ride, that might influence the final price. Things like heavy traffic jam or strikes are common in Italy. The drivers sometimes choose the longest way to the city, announcing it after arrival only. And there's no way you succeed in arguing with an Italian, even if you know the language... You'll never change his mind! So another useful recommendation is to discuss the final price before leaving the airport. And don't forget about compulsory 10% tips.

The transfer is more convenient than a taxi, in terms of both price and language. First, booking a transfer you always know the final price. Second, the driver speaks your language. In case, you didn't think about the transfer beforehand, you can always use a taxi.
